Sichuan Tourism University (SCTU) embarks on full time undergraduate education under the auspices of by the Sichuan government. The SCTU focuses on the discipline of management, coordinate the development of engineering and humanities, and highlight the majors of culinary,hospitality, tourism to produce the advanced applicable talents to cater for the needs of tourism industry and F&B industry. There are now 9,000 students studying over 45 majors. Furthermore, 15 of the faculty members are judges for national technical qualifications, 56 have obtained senior national technical qualifications, and 32 are Masters of Cuisine or Chefs of Renown at the state level. The school emphasizes academic study, using an integration of school education and on-site training.
The Chinese Cuisine, especially, Sichuan cuisine is the most celebrated and complex of Chinese culinary traditions. Chefs distinguish this cuisine for its rich and eclectic palate, intense spices and sophisticated textures. As Chinese food culture commands more interest internationally, Sichuan cooking is experiencing a surge of enthusiasm from abroad.
The Short-Term Intensive Chinese Cooking Program (3 to 5 months) includes cutting skills, the art of cold starters, small plates and sauces, mastery of wok-fried, steamed and sautéed Sichuan dishes, soups and pastries, and banquet plate work. Students gain facility with kitchen tools, learn to choose and treat raw ingredients, study the science and philosophy of Chinese cooking and create new dishes.
The Long-Term Chinese Cooking Program (1 to 3 years) offers a professional degree in cooking, nutrition and restaurant practice. SCTU also offers courses in catering, tourism, hotel administration and other fields.

·3 months of study is 15,000 RMB
·5 months of study is 25,000 RMB
·1 year of study including 4 -month internship at restaurant is 30,000 RMB
·3 years of study with diploma including one year internship is 75,000 RMB

Adults who can understand simple Chinese words used in the kitchen are welcome to join us. Teenagers should get the permission from their legal guardian first.
